Kombucha
Kombucha is a popular health promoting beverage which is made with tea and white sugar using a special Kombucha colony. The colony is composed of yeasts and bacteria. This mixture takes about one week of fermenting to become Kombucha. The sugar is consumed by the colony. The longer the mix ferments the less sugar is in it. Kombucha has a reputation for being very good for your health, and it is very inexpensive if you make it yourself. Most people think it tastes good - similar to tart apple cider.
The first recorded use of Kombucha Tea was during the Chinese Empire of the Tsing Dynasty in 221 BC.
